What can I expect?
Class One: The technique class covers the
principles of flamenco movement: posture, braceo (arm work), floreo (hand work),
vueltas (turns), taconeo (footwork) and palmas (hand clapping). It also offers
an introduction to the use of castanuelas (castanets), Pericone (fan) and
Cordoba (hat) and covers fundamental steps, compass (rhythm phrasing) and
styles; building confidence and knowledge.
Class Two: The choreography class offers the
opportunity to learn a variety of dances from both the classical and flamenco
schools.
Class Three: The Bulerias style is taught as
an individual class due to the complex nature of the compass. Participants will
be taught short ‘patadas’. |
